Virtual audition process

The audition application will include some short answer questions and a video upload that includes the following:  

1.  A short clip of you answering the following questions:

- Why do you want to be on the Baylor Dance Company?

- Why do you believe you would be a strong member of the Baylor Dance Company?

2.  Technique
In the technique video please include the skills listed below. Each skill does not have to be filmed in the same clip, however, please merge all the skills to be uploaded in one video. 

  • Right Pirouette 

  • Left Pirouette 

  • Turns in Second (Right)

    • Two 8-Counts of turns

    • May also include other advanced skills in turn combos such as changing spots, attitude turns, pirouettes, double turns, etc.

    • You may upload up to 2 different turn combinations

  • Right Leap

  • Left Leap

  • Right Center Leap

  • Calypso

  • Right Tilt Jump

  • Right Tilt Kick  

  • Switch Tilt Jump

  • Switch Arabesque Jump

  • Leg Turn (Right OR Left)

  • Leg Extension/Hold 

  • Optional/Highly Encouraged : Aerial (Right OR Left)

  • Optional/Highly Encouraged: Any additional acrobatic skills you want to highlight 

3. Jazz/Contemporary Combination

4. Hip Hop Combination

5.  Optional: You can add any additional videos that you believe demonstrate your dance ability.

If you do not receive a position on the Baylor Dance Company through the Early Spring Virtual Audition process, you will be allowed to audition through our traditional in-person audition process, which typically takes place during the second week of school in the fall semester.
