Baylor Dance Company provides a unique university experience for students who have a background in dance and want to further their training in college. While the organization is student led by a leadership team of elected officers, the affiliation with the dance minor provides the company with a director, enforcing a professional environment. The company primarily trains in Contemporary, Jazz, and Hip-Hop as well as fundamental Ballet and Jazz technique. Rehearsals occur from 6:15-8:15 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with additional weekend or outside rehearsals around performances. Performance opportunities include events in the Waco Community, Baylor sponsored events such as After Dark, Homecoming, and Stompfest, a competition or convention, and our annual Spring Showcase featuring company member choreography. Baylor Dance Company not only gives trained dancers an advanced environment to grow both technically and artistically, but also provides a community of kindness and support with a shared passion for the art of dance.

While we strongly encourage members to minor in dance, it is not a requirement and does not influence acceptance into the company.
